Dragojlo still on leave

Mochudi Centre Chiefs head coach, Dragojlo Stanojlovic, will remain on indefinite leave until management makes a decision on his fate.

Chiefs’ public relations officer, Clifford Mogomotsi revealed on February 25 that management held a meeting on Monday where the status of the coach was extensively discussed and eventually decided to keep the Serbian coach on indefinite leave until a definite decision could be reached.

He, however, could not shed light on when the club would have reached a definite decision on Stanojlovic’s future, save to state that Chiefs’ assistant coach Odirile Matlhaku will continue holding the fort.

Magosi put the coach on indefinite leave on February 21 because they were not happy with the club’s performance.

“The results were not forthcoming; supporters were no longer coming to our matches and players were not motivated. We decided to give the coach a break while addressing these problems,” said Mogomotsi. He further clarified that Magosi had not fired Stanojlovic but had rather put him on indefinite leave.

The be Mobile Premier League defending champions suffered a shock defeat to Nico United last week Wednesday. They were also eliminated by Dynamos of Zimbabwe in the preliminaries of the CAF Champions League.

Stanojlovic was appointed by the club at the beginning of this season to replace double league winning head-coach Madinda Ndlovu who left for Township Rollers. ENDS
