Shoprite Maun launches revamped store

Shoprite Maun held a customer appreciation event to re-launch its revamped store on Saturday.

In an interview, Shoprite North West regional manager, Mr Tshepo Sekate said the company spent about P35 million to bring the Maun branch into an appealing state.

Shoprite Maun, he said, had been in existence for 22 years, having taken over from Maun Fresh Produce in 1999.

Mr Sekate therefore said the customer appreciation activation was to thank them for their patience and support over the years.

He said they had managed to revamp the till points, dairy section, fridges and the air con system.

He also said Shoprite aimed to empower locals, and had employed 122 staff members and filled five management positions with locals.

He said the store also procured fruits and vegetables from locals.

The customer appreciation was done through a month-end promotion, a re-launch promotion as well as give away from suppliers to customers.

Groceries controller, Mr Tshepiso Motlogelwa, said the store outlook had changed and was now spacious.

Mr Motlogelwa said Maun customers were loyal to Shoprite as witnessed by goods they bought and hoped the re-launch would increase sales.

One customer, Ms Omphemetse Keesi said the revamped Shoprite had an appealing look and had improved services since the time spent at till points was reduced.

PST Sales and Distribution and Safari Distributors also gave customers some gifts. Ends
