Mochudi Centre Chiefs’ former coaches, Bongani Mafu and Philane Mabena, have reported the team to FIFA for unpaid dues.

Speaking in an interview this week, the team’s spokesperson, John Marumo, confirmed that the duo had reported them to FIFA.

He said the team received a letter from FIFA last month, alerting them about reports sent by both Mabena and Mafu.

The team was given up to  July 20  to have responded.

He stated that they wrote to FIFA seeking extension to enable the team to investigate the matter.

Consequently, FIFA granted the team up to August 20 to have done all needed in the issue.

In other issues, Marumo said the team was experiencing financial constraints and had pleaded with supporters to assist financially.

He said things moved from worse to worst when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.

Despite challenges in the Magosi camp, Marumo remained optimistic that the team would return to its glory days.

When contacted for comment, Botswana Football Association (BFA) chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo, said it was important to uphold confidentiality between the team and complainant.

He also advised football teams to abide by contractual agreements.

Mfolo added that monetary tussles affected projects of improving football such as club licensing. ENDS
