Bango Trading, ministry have no agreement

Parliament has been informed that the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services has not entered into any agreement with Bango Trading (Pty) Ltd.

This was said by Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi when responding to a question from Jwaneng/Mabutsane MP, Mr Shawn Ntlhaile.

He however clarified that in May 2017, Bango Trading (Pty) Ltd requested for the use of boreholes BH7092 and BH7097 from the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) for the construction of the Sekoma-Morwamosu road.

“Department of Water and Sanitation issued a provisional offer in May 2017 for which they have not responded to.

As such, the ministry has not entered into any agreement with Bango Trading (Pty) Ltd,” he said.

Since the ministry had no contract with Bango Trading, the assistant minister said the next set of sub questions were not relevant.

The boreholes, situated at Mabutsane, Mr Moipisi said have a combined yield of 9 cubic litres per hour.

Mr Ntlhaile had asked Mr Moipisi to brief Parliament on the nature of water supply contract Bango Construction Company entered into for the Sekoma-Morwamosu asphalt road project and to state the total amount of water used in the construction of the road.

Jwaneng/Mabutsane lawmaker also wanted the assistant minister to state the total number of existing new boreholes and water points used, the date such boreholes and water points were drilled and the names and locations of such boreholes and water points.

Additionally, Mr Ntlhaile wanted Mr Moipisi to state the names of companies and individuals with whom water supply contracts were entered into, the yields and water qualities for each water supply contracts and the value of each contract.ENDS
