Disciplinary commitee fines Rollers coach P10 000

Botswana Premier League Disciplinary Committee has released its ruling on the Botswana Premier League matter against Nikola Kavazovic in which he was charged with contravention of Article 25.6 of Botswana Football Association Play Rules and Regulations.

A press statement released on Tuesday, says the ruling follows a hearing, which was conducted before the BPL DCD wherein a single charge was laid against Kavazovic, following a Premier League game played between Township Rollers and Sharps Shooting Stars at the University of Botswana Stadium on October 22.

The release says Kavazovic was alleged to have uttered certain words when given his post-match interview, he was thus as the results of the utterance of such words charged with misbehavior of bringing the game of football into disrepute contrary to article 25.6 of the BFA Play Rules and Regulations.

It further states that Kavazovic was alleged to have referred to an opponent in an official BFA game as a small team, whose name he does not know and care about.

“The DC upon consideration of the evidence and submissions presented before them reached a conclusion that the words uttered had an element of mocking, degrading, shaming and mortifying the opponent,” the release says.

The press release further says Kavazovic was thus found guilty of misbehavior of bringing the game of football into disrepute.

According to the release, DC imposed the following sentences in terms of Article 13 of the BFA Play Rules and Regulations; a fine of P10 000 and a warning.
It also states that the coach can appeal the ruling within 10 days. Ends
