Trust presents movie night

Francistown East Community Development Trust (FECDT) will host a movie night in Itekeng Ward on Friday (Dec 8).

In an interview, Francistown East MP, Billy Buti said the movie titled, Daddy’s Home, which will be presented at no charge would start at 7pm.

He said the movie would also be shown at other wards in the constituency at dates to be announced. Billy said children would also be given free refreshments during the movie saying the movie was in line with the objectives of the constituency’s trust.

Billy said apart from providing free entertainment through the movie, neighbours would also get to know each other as well as stimulate creativity in the young ones. He noted that while the youth were in most cases blamed for drug and alcohol abuse, one of the factors that led to such was lack of entertainment activities. Since schools would be closed, he said the movie initiative would help keep school going children busy.

He explained  that one of the objectives of the trust was to encourage and promote cooperation among the community members for economic and social development. The trust was launched in September last yerar and is a brain child of the MP as a way of leaving a legacy behind for the constituents that will uplift and better the lives of the marginalised and vulnerable members of the community.

Other objectives of the trust are to help build houses for the less privileged, fight HIV/AIDS and to promote democracy by encouraging the vulnerable members of the constituency to actively participate in programmes that may uplift their status. ENDS
