PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR-D1 SALARY SCALE

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO: 7 of 2020-2021

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above mentioned post in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development- Corporate Service (Gaborone)

 

CODE: 230100016.1.2                    

SALARY:          P315, 264.00 - P347, 676.00

LEAVE:            30 working days per annum

BENEFITS:      i) Optional medical aid scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS - Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)

ii) Contributory pension scheme (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5%)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Degree in Social Sciences or Strategic Management or equivalent. A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience, preferably in a change management related area, two (2) years of which should have been at D2 level in government or an equivalent level in Parastatals or Private Sector. 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

i.          To monitor and manage the implementation of reform initiatives introduced by Government and provide general assistance to the Permanent Secretary.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•          Facilitates the formulation of the strategic plan for the Ministry (develops strategy maps, articulates strategic objectives, measures, targets, initiatives, budgets).

•          Facilitates the mapping out the strategic priorities of the Ministry and aligns them to the national agenda.

•          Facilitates the cascading of the strategic plan of the organization to departments, divisions and units and ensures alignment in headquarters and districts.

•          Manages the project/programme portfolio for cross cutting issues in collaboration with stakeholders.

•          Monitors the execution of the project/initiative portfolio.

•          Tracks progress towards achievement of strategic outcomes of the organization – (strategy review).

•          Monitors signing and reviews of the Departments and staff.

•          Coordinates and compiles the performance reports of the ministry both at strategic level and tactical level.

•          Facilitates management meetings to monitor implementation of initiatives and the overall performance of the strategic objectives

•          Analyses the performance of the organization in the delivery of its mandate and gives advice or areas of focus.

•          Coordinates customer feedback systems and advices management on areas that need attention.

•          Facilitates the management of performance at departmental level and individual level.

•          Coordinates other major events such as Vision 2036.

•          Consolidates the Reforms Unit budget for incorporation into department budget and monitors expenditure to ensure appropriate utilisation.

•          Provides general assistance to the Permanent Secretary as required.
