VACANCY CIRCULAR NO 17 OF 2019

 

Applications are invited from highly motivated and well experienced self-driven citizens of Botswana for the below mentioned position which exist in the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Headquarters.

 

 

VACANCY:    ASSISTANT MANAGER (EMPLOYEE RELATIONS)

 

Salary:                       D2 (P271, 020 – P299, 232 per annum)

 

Leave:                        30 working days per annum.

 

Benefits:                    Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government

Contributes 50% and employee 50%)

Compulsory Pension Fund Scheme (Employee contributes 5% and Government 15%)

 

Qualifications:          Degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology or Public Administration.  A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.

 

Experience:              A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, two (2) years of which should have been served as Chief Administration Officer I (D3) level or equivalent in an employee relations/ industrial relations field.

 

Main Purpose of the Job: 

 

To coordinate the employee relations function and other Human Resources related functions. 

 

Key Performance Areas:

1.    Interprets statutes governing employee relations and trade disputes matters.

2.    Facilitate the development of dispute prevention strategies and coordinates implementation of the same.

3.    Develops strategies to promote cordial relationship with external stakeholders.

4.    Facilitates timely resolutions of employee relations cases referred to the third party.

  1. Provides advice and guidance on interpretation of human resource management policies to customers and monitors compliance. 
  2. Monitors adherence to Employee Relations standards.

7.    Represent the Ministry at mediation and arbitration meetings

8.    Supervises and manages performance of supervisees.
